Saif Ali Khan anointed 10th Nawab of Pataudi

Flanked by his mother Sharmila Tagore and two sisters, Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, Nawab of Pataudi anointed Monday the 10th at a ceremony in the family of Ibrahim's Palace here.

Heads of the various villages in the area tied a white turban (Pagri) to head the 41-year-old.

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda also attended the ceremony, with the exception of Sharmila Tagore and Saif two sisters Soha and Saba.

His father, Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi died, 22 September in New Delhi, Sir Gangaram Hospital after he unsuccessfully fighting severe lung infections.

Mansur Ali Khan, the Indian cricket team captain at the age of 21 years, was Nawab of Pataudi the last state. He held the title until 1971, when the Central Government abolished princely system.

The family has its Pataudi Palace is still in town, 26 km from Gurgaon, many of which is rented to one of the leading Heritage Resort is a hotel chain. A portion of the palace has been preserved by the family.
