According to a unit hand, the role of Meera, a simple Indian girl with traditional values, played by Diana was earlier offered to Deepika. After going through the character, Deepika realized that she won't fit for the role of Meera. She showed interest in playing Veronica's role instead. Veronica is a girl who lives life on the wild side.
After discussion with director Homi Adajania, Deepika opted for Veronica's role. Thereby Meera's role went to Diana who was supposed to make her debut opposite Ranbir Kapoor in Rockstar.
