Unlike the original, the story of "Aashiqui 2" would be upgraded to meet modern times, Suri said.
"There have been 20 years for this film. So obviously I'm going to upgrade this story. This will be the same love story realistic, but with a modern theme," Suri told IANS.
"Aashiqui" won accolades critics after its release at the time. It also catapulted the careers of lead actors Rahul Roy and Anu Agarwal, who foray into Bollywood with this film. Suri is also set to hunt for new faces for the future.
"I will cast new faces with new new boy and a girl," said Mohit.
While some refer to "Aashiqui 2" as a result, others call it a remake. However, Mukesh Bhatt producer of Vishesh Films sets the record straight.
"It is neither a sequel nor a remake. We can say that the series of musical 'Aashiqui' ... a new generation is to make this film," he said.
