The hunt for a leading lady for 'Dhoom: 3' is finished! Katrina Kaif will sizzle in the third installment of the action adventure series, which featured Aamir Khan as an anti-hero.
Yash Raj Films (YRF) is looking for fresh face for the role, which was tried by Esha Deol and Aishwarya Rai in 'Dhoom' and 'Dhoom 2', respectively.
"After nearly a year to find new faces for 'Dhoom: 3', we were unable to find the perfect debut for the major players. We even caught up with international talent, but can not find someone that stands out," says director Vijay Krishna Acharya aka Victor.
The selection was made jointly by Victor and producer Aditya Chopra.
"When we decided to go with the familiar faces and newcomers did not pursue the route, Katrina is the logical choice for us," Victor said in a press release Friday YRF.
Katrina rose high on the success of films like 'Zindagi After Milegi Dobara "and other YRF venture Mere Ki Dulhan Brother earlier this year.
"He's someone we all know will be tremendous enthusiasm and commitment to carry the film. The first time with Aamir clutch Katrina will certainly add value," he added.
'Dhoom: 3' written and directed by Victor, who has written 'Dhoom' and 'Dhoom 2'.
Apart from Aamir, Abhishek Bachchan and Uday both Chopra continue their roles are now icons Jai Dixit and Ali, respectively.
The shooting will begin later this year. 'Dhoom: 3' is scheduled for release Christmas 2012.
